Wholebake accelerates growth with multi-million pound investment

Wholebake, a leading UK manufacturer of healthy snack bars, has announced a significant expansion of its operations with the opening of a state-of-the-art new facility in Wrexham.

This multi-million-pound investment is a transformational step designed to accelerate growth and strengthen the company’s position as a key supplier for leading brands and retailers in the healthy snacking sector.

The new Wrexham site — a bespoke, food-grade factory converted from an existing warehouse — will operate alongside Wholebake’s current facilities in Corwen and Wrexham, giving the company three sites in total.

The investment directly addresses the need for greater capacity, as the existing Corwen facility is currently fully utilised. The new factory provides the essential space required to strengthen production and support the company’s long-term growth objectives.

The facility is designed with dedicated production zones to ensure more efficient workflows, robust allergen management, and flexibility to scale as demand increases. Furthermore, expanded onsite warehousing will allow Wholebake to hold more ingredients and packaging, which will reduce reliance on third-party storage and significantly improve supply chain efficiency.

The company’s ambition is to become the UK’s most capable and flexible bar manufacturer, backed by its commitment to healthy snacking and the ability to produce multiple bar formats across a wide range of ingredients.

The Wrexham location also reinforces Wholebake’s role as an employer of choice in the region, offering improved accessibility for staff and suppliers. As new high-speed lines are introduced, the company is investing in training and multi-skilling, creating development opportunities for current employees while paving the way for future recruitment as the business expands.
