Tummers Food Processing Solutions and Callens proudly announce a strategic cooperation for the continued development of Tummers’ emission-to-energy (E2E) concept. This partnership is a sensible and significant step in the direction of processing potatoes without emissions.
Tummers, with its deep-rooted expertise in the potato processing industry, and Callens, a specialist in thermal energy solutions, utilities, and steam systems, share a common vision of sustainability and innovation.
The first results of this collaboration will become visible within Tummers’ E2E concept in which efficiency, circularity, and energy recovery are central. Callens adds advanced technologies for energy generating, heat integration, and steam management; all essential components for the envisioned “lights-off factory”: a production facility that, once started, runs autonomously on sustainable energy, without emissions or unnecessary energy consumption.
“This collaboration is no coincidence, but a logical step,” says Lennaert van Dijk, CEO of Tummers Group. “With Callens as our partner, we combine our expertise in potato processing with their in-depth knowledge of energy and steam. Together, we’re taking a major step toward our ultimate goal: an emission-free, fully automated factory.”
Bert De Gryse, technical director at Callens, adds: “Tummers and Callens share the same vision for the future: making industrial processes smarter, more sustainable, and more energy-efficient. Our collaboration is complementary and will have a significant impact on the industry and possibly beyond.”
In the coming period, both companies will work closely together on the first implementations within existing and new customer projects.
