Syntegon boosts food packaging capacity with new assembly hall

The new assembly hall offers 1,200 square meters of modern workspace and room for efficient assembly processes.
Packaging and processing technology specialist Syntegon havs officially reinforced their commitment to the food industry by opening a new assembly hall for its Food Horizontal business at its Remshalden site near Stuttgart.
The inauguration ceremony, held on November 26, marks a significant step in the site’s modernisation and Syntegon’s strategy to expand capacity in the growing food packaging market.
Torsten Türling, CEO of Syntegon, stated: “This project is a strong symbol of our momentum over recent years. It shows that our strategy meets customer needs and is delivering. With this new assembly hall, we are creating the foundation to scale technological innovation, expand production for our food customers, and offer employees a modern, future-ready work environment.”
The investment directly addresses the rapidly increasing demand for Syntegon’s solutions. The Remshalden site, which focuses on horizontal food packaging, has seen sales nearly double since 2022, placing significant strain on existing infrastructure.
The new facility adds 1,200 square meters of contiguous assembly area, the largest at the site, which will significantly enhance capacities. This extra space is particularly crucial for handling complex, end-to-end line projects — a core element of the Food Horizontal business’s holistic line-solution approach that integrates advanced secondary and end-of-line technologies. The new hall also creates space for approximately 25 additional employees.
Bruno Oberle, executive vice president Food Horizontal, stressed the importance of the nearly four million euro investment, saying: “This investment reflects our confidence in the market, in our strategy, and most importantly, in our people.”
Construction of the new facility was completed in just over a year, finishing six weeks ahead of schedule thanks to strong collaboration between Syntegon and project partners FP die Generalplaner and APS Bau.
Furthermore, the new building supports Syntegon’s environmental goals, featuring a photovoltaic system installed across the entire roof to enhance the company’s sustainability ambitions.
For food and beverage professionals, this expansion signals Syntegon’s reinforced position as a technology leader and strategic partner, promising increased capacity for large-scale packaging line solutions crucial for optimizing modern food production operations.
