Ilapack launches electronic flowrapper for the poultry industry

One of the new poultry packs now possible with the Delta 3000 $S machineIlapak has launched an electronic flowrapper for the poultry industry. The new Delta 3000 4S can pack poultry in a full range of pack formats, in either trayed or trayless pack styles.

The flowrapper can pack whole birds and single portions. It can run laminates, paper laminates and ovenable films producing pillow pack and quad pack formats in either modified atmosphere (MAP) or ambient packs. In addition the machine can produce existing pack styles in shrink, stretch shrink and barrier shrink formats.

One of the new styles of pack that can be produced is the quad pack, which has a clearly defined shape with four profiled corners, pack gusseting and both ends and hermetic seals, guaranteed by the elliptical motion jaw supported by four jaw shafts.

Ilapak also offers the option to die cut the film in line and apply a top label to the pack. This makes the pack suitable for cook-in-bag quad packs, as it allows the top of the bag to be opened towards the end of the cooking process so that the skin can brown.
