Bradman Lake has engineered and commissioned a high‑performance cartoning and shrink‑wrapping system for Birds Eye, boosting speed, hygiene and efficiency at the brand’s flagship Lowestoft production site.

The customised line, developed for Nomad Foods’ Birds Eye operation, is designed to handle up to 770 individual potato waffles per minute, packaging them into cartons of 10 or 18 before collating and shrink‑wrapping the finished packs in groups of 10 or six on edge.

The project was driven by Birds Eye’s need for a fast, hygienic and highly accurate packaging solution capable of feeding waffles into cartons at high throughput and then wrapping them in precise retail formats. The new system meets stringent hygiene requirements and delivers the exacting presentation standards demanded by the brand’s retail customers.

Installed at one of the UK’s most important frozen food facilities, the line integrates advanced cartoning technology with a shrink‑wrapping system engineered to maintain product integrity and consistency at high speeds. Bradman Lake’s solution ensures that waffles are aligned, collated and wrapped with precision, supporting both operational efficiency and product quality.

The installation reinforces Bradman Lake’s position as a leading supplier of integrated packaging technology, delivering systems that combine speed, flexibility and hygiene for major food manufacturers.

For Birds Eye, the upgrade strengthens production capability for one of its most iconic frozen lines, ensuring the brand can meet demand while maintaining the high standards expected across its portfolio.
