Solero is expanding its footprint in the “frozen snacking” category with a major burst of new product development (NPD), headlined by the launch of Solero Bon Bons.

The move is designed to transition the brand from a traditional “stick-based” refreshment into a versatile, shareable treat for at-home occasions.

The launch, which rolls out this month across all major UK grocers and wholesalers, aims to capitalize on Solero’s status as the UK’s leading adult refreshment brand while meeting the growing consumer demand for portion-controlled, “poppable” snacks.

The new Solero Bon Bons feature the brand’s signature creamy vanilla ice cream swirled with tangy fruit sauce, all encased in a vibrant, fruit-flavoured coating. Critically, the product has been engineered with a unique texture that ensures the bites do not melt in the hand, making them ideal for hosting and social sharing.

The range debuts in two flavour variants:

  • Solero Exotic: A tropical blend featuring peach, passion fruit, mango, and pineapple.
  • Solero Strawberry: A classic, refreshing fruit profile.

Maintaining Solero’s permissible indulgence credentials, each serving of two Bon Bons contains just 96 calories, is made with natural flavours, and contains no artificial colours.

“We wanted to offer Solero’s iconic taste in a light, uplifting treat that fits into more moments for shoppers to enjoy,” said Olga Mert, brand manager at Walls Refreshment UK. “This new bite-sized format will build on the popularity of Solero to offer something completely new and innovative—a perfect bite for yourself or for sharing.”

With an RRP of £4.00 per tub of 12, the Bon Bons are positioned to compete directly with high-growth segments like mochi and premium chocolate-coated snacks, providing retailers with a high-margin opportunity to drive incremental spend from health-conscious adults.
