Kerrygold enters cream cheese

Kerrygold is expanding beyond its core butter and cheese lines with the launch of Kerrygold Cream Cheese, marking the brand’s first move into the cream cheese category.

The new range aims to shake up a fixture long dominated by established players by offering a more indulgent, grass‑fed alternative rooted in Kerrygold’s premium Irish dairy heritage.

The launch comes as consumers increasingly seek natural‑ingredient, high‑quality spreads that deliver stronger flavour and versatility across breakfast, snacking and cooking occasions. Kerrygold’s entry is positioned to tap into this momentum, bringing the brand’s well‑known richness and provenance into a category where premiumisation is gathering pace.

Made with Irish grass‑fed milk, the cream cheese is designed to offer a creamier mouthfeel and fuller flavour than standard alternatives. The range includes Original, Light, and Garlic & Herb variants, giving retailers breadth across both everyday and added‑flavour segments. Kerrygold says the products are suited to everything from bagels and toast to pasta dishes, dips and baking, broadening usage occasions and helping drive incremental value.

The move reflects a strategic ambition to extend Kerrygold’s presence across everyday dairy, leveraging its strong brand equity to compete in a category where shoppers are increasingly trading up. For retailers, the launch offers a premium point of difference backed by one of the UK’s fastest‑growing dairy brands.

A spokesperson for Kerrygold said the expansion was a natural next step for the brand as consumers trust Kerrygold for quality and taste. Cream cheese is seen as a category where those credentials really matter.

Kerrygold Cream Cheese is rolling out now across major retailers, with further distribution expected throughout the year.
