Double Dutch has expanded its 150ml can portfolio and brought out a flavour-first design refresh, moving to capture a booming market for versatile, single-serve premium mixers.

A significantly broadened 150ml can range featuring nine variants, including new additions like Soda Water, Ginger Ale, and Ginger Beer. This expansion is paired with a bold packaging redesign that aligns the cans with the elevated look of the brand’s glass bottle portfolio.

The shift responds to a sharp increase in on-trade listings and a general market demand for flexible formats. As the premium mixer category matures, venues and retailers are seeking versatility to accommodate diverse serving environments, from high-traffic bars to airlines.

The updated line-up is designed for “discovery.”

  • New additions: Soda Water, Ginger Ale, Ginger Beer, Double Lemon, and Elderflower join the core staples.
  • Format: cases of 6 x 150ml cans, optimised for single-serve precision and waste reduction.

The new artwork uses visual cues like botanicals, citrus, and a recurring elephant motif (referencing tonic water’s Indian heritage) to signal quality and origin.

Target audience is the on-trade & travel: premium bars, restaurants, and airlines requiring greater flexibility and quick-serve consistency. At-home mixologists, including consumers looking for high-quality, single-serve options for premium ready-to-drink (RTD) occasions as well as retailers: high-end grocery and boutique shops where shelf standout is critical, are part of the mix.

Founder Raissa de Haas notes that the expansion is a direct response to increasing demand across all sectors. The brand’s goal is to become the go-to flexible partner for the trade, supporting everything from large-scale events to refined at-home consumption with an elevated brand world.

Going forward, mixer brands have to maintain the prestige of glass for traditional dining while providing versatile 150ml cans, ensuring that high-design, single-serve formats remain the current growth engine for the on-trade.
