Akona’s new batch mixer elevates blending precision

Akona Process Solutions has officially expanded its industrial mixing portfolio with the launch of the Rotary Batch Mixer.
Specifically engineered for the rigourous demands of the food, beverage, and nutraceutical sectors, this new system prioritises material integrity and operational efficiency in dry bulk processing.
Gentle handling by design
Unlike traditional mixers that utilise internal paddles, ribbons, or agitators, Akona’s Rotary Batch Mixer employs a gravity-driven tumbling process. By eliminating internal mechanical shear, the machine offers several critical advantages for sensitive ingredients:
- Minimal particle damage: ideal for friable materials that are prone to breakage.
- Zero heat generation: protects temperature-sensitive powders and granules.
- Uniform consistency: achieves homogenous blends even when incorporating trace ingredients or minor additives.
Simplified sanitation and maintenance
One of the most significant hurdles for food and drink manufacturers is the downtime associated with cleaning and seal maintenance. Akona has addressed this by using a shaft-free internal geometry.
Without submerged seals or internal agitator components, the risk of cross-contamination is drastically reduced. This design allows for faster, more effective washdowns between batches, supporting higher uptime and ensuring that batch-to-batch repeatability remains uncompromised.
