The UK’s ready‑to‑drink cocktail category is getting a new luxury player, as The Naked Margarita launches with an ultra‑premium bottled margarita and a forthcoming line of craft canned cocktails inspired by Jalisco, Mexico.

A new luxury tier for RTDs

Positioned deliberately above the mainstream RTD set, The Naked Margarita aims to carve out its own luxury hosting niche.

The brand is founded by husband‑and‑wife team Lydia Ward and Chris Pratt, who set out to create a margarita that honours authentic tequila traditions rather than masking them. Their journey through their family farm in Jalisco — where four generations have refined tequila production — became the blueprint for the brand’s ethos: 100% agave, no shortcuts, no compromise.

Ultra‑premium bottle designed for modern hosting

At launch, the brand introduces a 700ml sharing bottle containing seven 100ml serves of its 10.1% ABV Classic Margarita.

Retailing at £49, the bottle is presented in a sculptural agave‑fan gift box and features luxury cues throughout: a glass stopper, debossed detailing, textured neck strap and a carved punt designed to refract light.

The recipe itself is intentionally pared back — ultra‑premium 100% agave tequila, balanced citrus, and no unnecessary additions — delivering a five‑star, bar‑quality margarita that’s ready to pour while still preserving the ritual of serving a cocktail.

The bottle is also designed for longevity. Through the brand’s online reuse programme, it can be repurposed into elegant glassware, aligning with the founders’ commitment to considered design and reduced waste without sacrificing luxury.

Founder vision

Lydia Ward, founder and CEO, said:“We didn’t set out to create just another ready‑to‑drink cocktail — we wanted to create a margarita worthy of the tequila inside. After travelling through Jalisco and seeing the incredible care, heritage and craftsmanship behind authentic tequila, we were inspired to create a brand that honoured those traditions while elevating the category.”

She added that the team spent four years developing their own tequila and refining every detail of the recipe, packaging and experience to create something “beautifully simple” for elevated hosting moments.

Canned collection expands the brand later this summer

Building on the bottle launch, The Naked Margarita will introduce a 125ml canned range later this summer, bringing the same premium cocktail into a more portable format. The cans feature bold striped designs inspired by the ordered rows of blue agave on the founders’ Jalisco farm.

The range includes:

  • Classic Margarita (10.1% ABV)Verde (10.1% ABV), infused with jalapeño
  • Rosalita (10.1% ABV), infused with strawberry and black pepper
  • Non‑Alcoholic Margarita, infused with L‑theanine and magnesium

Retailing at £4.45 for alcoholic variants and £3.95 for the functional non‑alcoholic option, the cans are digitally printed directly onto aluminium to eliminate plastic sleeves and maximise recyclability. 24‑can Social Packs will also be available online for hosting occasions.

The range is aimed at modern hosts seeking bar‑quality cocktails without the prep, luxury consumers who value craftsmanship, design and provenance and Tequila enthusiasts looking for authenticity in RTDs plus Summer socialisers wanting premium portable cocktails.
