Momo & Orbit team up for organic brew

Brixton-based artisan fermentary Momo Kombucha has joined forces with south London neighbours Orbit Beers to launch a limited-edition Organic Hops Kombucha (£4.50 per 330ml glass bottle).
Available from 29th October until February 2027, the collaborative brew marries traditional kombucha craft with modern craft beer sensibilities, offering an ideal non-alcoholic option for the Christmas entertaining season and Dry January.
Crafting complex flavours without the alcohol
Brewed at Momo’s south London facility under the guidance of production manager Matt Canham, the new release utilises organic Hallertau Blanc and Nelson Sauvin hops.
- The flavour profile: the hops deliver a complex base of citrus tones, herbal notes, and earthy depth, paired with tropical fruit and gooseberry characteristics.
- The finish: these rich botanical notes are balanced out by Momo’s signature fully fermented, tart living kombucha base.
“Hops have a complex flavour base… which make them an astonishing match for fully fermented tart kombucha like Momo’s,” notes the brewery, positioning the drink as a sophisticated, alcohol-free alternative for social gatherings and seasonal celebrations.
A celebration of neighbourhood collaboration
The partnership brings together two independent south London producers renowned for blending traditional methods with modern twists.
Josh Puddle, co-founder of Momo Kombucha, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership: “We could think of no better partner than Orbit Beers, we’ve admired their traditional method of making European beer with a modern twist down the road in south east London for many years. This traditional approach with a flavour focused modern spin felt like a natural fit for the way we brew. Orbit’s beers can regularly be found in our brewery fridge… and they supply some of our favourite pubs and restaurants in London.”
Echoing the sentiment, Robbie Sykes, general manager of Orbit Beers, added: “We’ve admired Momo’s traditional method of brewing kombucha down the road in South London for many years and love working with and sharing recipes and ideas with their team. Our first collaborative batch was brewed in January 2021. It was so well received, winning a Great Taste Award, that we decided to brew it again. We don’t currently make an alcohol-free beer as part of our core range, so this is a delicious alternative that keeps us going here at the taproom and brewery in Walworth.”
Certified organic by the Soil Association, Momo X Orbit Organic Hops Kombucha is available via direct channels and select stockists starting 29th October.
