BrauBeviale 2026: Krones maps the future of brewing

Krones will arrive at BrauBeviale 2026 with a message that mirrors the pressures and ambitions of today’s breweries: adapt to alcohol‑free demand, optimise every kilowatt and litre, and embrace digitalisation as a core production asset.
Across Hall 7A, the company will present a full value‑chain showcase spanning process technology, filling and packaging, and digital tools designed to make breweries more efficient, flexible and future‑ready.
Process technology: meeting new brewing realities
Krones’ Steinecker division takes centre stage with solutions shaped by global shifts in consumption and production.
- Dynamic fermentation — Steinecker continues to advance its alcohol‑free beer process, built around the Poseidon circulation unit and Crabtree‑negative NEER yeasts from Novonesis. Already in operation at multiple customer sites, the system is being refined using real‑world production data to improve flavour stability and process reliability.
- Special vessel manufacturing — For the first time at BrauBeviale, Steinecker will show how its stainless‑steel expertise extends beyond brewing. A new application example for spirits production demonstrates how its vessel engineering capabilities can support distillers and even cheese manufacturers.
- Extraction technology — Krones and Steinecker will also highlight their extraction system for tea beverages and alcoholic or non‑alcoholic RTD products. The gentle extraction method preserves valuable ingredients and expands the company’s process portfolio for flavour‑driven beverage categories.
Evoguard and additional process innovations round out the exhibit, emphasising efficiency, product quality and operational flexibility.
Filling & packaging: glass still leads
With glass remaining the benchmark for beer, Krones’ filling and cleaning innovations focus on resource efficiency and product protection.
- Lavasonic HI — The next generation of bottle cleaning uses high‑intensity ultrasound to deliver deep cleaning while cutting water and energy consumption.
- Modulfill HES — Entering serial production at year‑end, the new filler generation reaches outputs of up to 78,000 glass bottles per hour. Improvements span hygiene, operator convenience and footprint, with low oxygen pick‑up ensuring longer beer shelf life.
Dry‑end flexibility: adapting to new pack formats
Breweries face increasing SKU variety and shifting packaging formats. Krones responds with adaptable end‑of‑line systems.
- Smartpac NXT — designed for multiple bottle formats and secondary packaging types, Smartpac NXT handles both glass and PET, giving producers the agility needed for modern portfolios.
- New layer pusher — debuting at BrauBeviale, the palletising innovation combines features from Krones’ existing systems into a single, more capable solution.
Digitalisation: connecting the value chain
Digital tools will be woven throughout the stand, showing how breweries can monitor, optimise and automate production with greater precision. From process control to packaging analytics, Krones’ digital ecosystem supports data‑driven decision‑making and long‑term efficiency gains.
A stand shaped by industry challenges
Alcohol‑free growth, sustainability pressures and digital transformation define the brewing landscape in 2026. Krones’ Hall 7A showcase demonstrates how these trends can be turned into practical, scalable solutions — helping breweries build operations that are efficient, flexible and ready for the future.
