Atkins and Potts produces a variety of speciality foods, including gourmet sauces. With Soil Association and BRC Global Standards accreditation, the business was keen to find a pest control partner that could understand and match its high hygiene standards.

Typically, pest control is recorded using paper based systems, which can easily be mislaid or left forgotten on a shelf. However, earlier this year, Atkins and Potts identified a new online system from Mitie pest control services which would enable information to be easily recorded and accessed, helping the company to comply with strict food safety audits.

Mitie designed a pest management solution based on the analysis of different pest factors and the layout of the business. The solution comprises a remote monitoring rodent unit, eMitter, which is fitted inside the grounds.

The system registers when a rodent is trapped and sends an immediate alert with the precise location to a web based system with real time data, enabling a rapid response.
