2SFG commits to safety register

Two Sisters Food Group (2SFG) has announced plans to sign up all of its senior technical team to the IFST’s Register of Food Safety Professionals.
According to 2SFG, this is proof of its commitment towards ensuring that its food safety and technical personnel are of the highest professional standing.
The register was launched last year to provide much needed professional recognition for those involved in food safety roles. As well as having to provide evidence of their professional experience against well defined standards, registrants are expected to sign up to a Code of Professional Conduct as well as commit to maintaining continuing professional development (CPD).
IFST chief executive Jon Poole says, “We are obviously delighted that such a large, high profile food producer has signed up to the register. This is good for the food sector which still needs to do much more to demonstrate the professionalism of those working in the sector.
“We look forward to involving 2SFG in IFST activities as their food professionals engage in our food safety technical community.”
Janette Graham, technical learning and development manager at 2SFG, says, “We are delighted to be working with IFST to drive forward the development of our technical community. This demonstrates to our customers that we are committed to delivering the highest quality products and will help us to continue to recruit and develop the very best people within our sites.”
