Algatechnologies expands astaxanthin facilities
Natural astaxanthin manufacturer Algatechnologies has announced that it’s expanding the production capacity of its AstaPure brand.
“This expansion is a result of the growing global demand for our AstaPure products, and of the several long-term agreements we secured with leading companies in the dietary supplement and nutrition industries,” explains Efrat Kat, director of marketing and sales at Algatechnologies. “Our competitive edge lies in our exclusive proprietary and patented cultivation process.”
The expansion of production will take place in two stages. In the first phase, estimated to be completed by the end of 2011, the company will increase its production capacity by 30%. The second stage, estimated to be completed in 12 months, will further increase the capacity by an additional 50%.
“This expansion will help us increase our use of solar energy and water reclamation which, when combined, will enable us to offer the most natural and environmentally friendly product on the market,” says Hagay Tzur, CEO of Algatechnologies.
Together with the production expansion, the company says it will widen its capabilities in the development of new microalgae cultivation technologies.
