Have a right royal time: food and drink launches for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee (Thursday 2nd – Sunday 5th June) will see jubilee mania sweep the nation as we host street parties, tea parties and picnics in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years of service.
With this historic event in mind, the nation’s food and drink manufacturers have been very creative, producing food and drink to help the nation feast and celebrate the longest-serving British monarch in history since 2015. Queen Elizabeth II will be the first royal to reach this landmark.
From limited-edition collections through tapping into Britons’ love of nostalgia to the Queen’s favourite spirit, the Jubilee has triggered food and drink brands’ individuality and creativity to help the nation enjoy a bumper weekend across the UK.
With the country getting ready to celebrate Her Majesty’s historic 70 years as Queen, we show a selection of the food and drink industries’ creations to toast the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

70 years in the baking! Dr. Oetker creates 8 cake portraits
Dr. Oetker Baking partnered with renowned food artist, Prudence Staite, to create eight portraits of Queen Elizabeth, made entirely from cake.
The eight portraits represent a different decade of Her Majesty’s reign, from 1950 to 2020, with each one offering a fascinating look at the Queen’s reign, as well as the UK’s history of cake making.
From the classic madeira signifying the ongoing rationing of the 1950s, to a rainbow Jubilee cake symbolising the UK’s inclusive society of today, each cake features an iconic moment and is reflective of popular baking trends during that time.
For one day only, the baked masterpieces were proudly displayed at Dr. Oetker’s pop-up gallery, Cakes of the Crown, at Castle Fine Art in Windsor on 26th May. At the event, guests could view the portraits, while tasting some delicious cakes and enjoying a Pimms cocktail or mocktail.

A toast to Her Majesty
Mark of respect
The house of Codorníu, inventor of Cava sparkling wines in Spain, has selected the iconic Anna de Codorníu Brut, Spain’s most popular Cava by the glass, to commemorate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Made of 70% Chardonnay, with the more traditional Macbeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada grape varieties forming the remaining 30%, Anna de Codorníu has a lush modern style. The addition of Chardonnay makes the Cava richer with tropical pineapple notes on the nose, and a smooth creamy mouth feel. The ripe succulent fruitiness of the Chardonnay in the blend gives the drinker the impression that is in less dry than it actually is.

Mainbrace’s Cornish Gin
Mainbrace, a Cornish brand known for its award-winning golden rum, launched an extension to its spirits range in the form of a craft gin, Mainbrace Cornish Dry Gin, to celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Born from the naval term ‘splice the mainbrace’ that celebrates courage, teamwork, and friendship. In the days of sail, the Navy was awarded a daily tot of either rum or gin, with sailors most commonly choosing rum and officers opting for gin. Today, ‘splicing the mainbrace’ has come to mean a toast to victory, as well as toasting to The Queen.
Distilled in Cornwall, Mainbrace Cornish Dry Gin is made in a traditional copper pot still, made using the London Dry style with no added sugars, sweeteners, essences, or other additives. The gin is made with Cornish water and local botanicals, namely lemon verbena harvested from St. Michaels Mount, and three different types of seaweed – Kelp, Dulse, and Sea Spaghetti – sourced from the Cornish Seaweed Company in Gweek. The gin’s taste is dominated by citrus notes, particularly lime, with secondary umami and slightly salty notes stemming from the seaweeds.
Sip Sip Hooray!
Ahead of the Platinum Jubilee, Majestic is selling an Eton Mess inspired gin to get drinkers into a celebratory mood! The limited edition Cotswolds Platinum Jubilee Gin (46% ABV) is available in store and online for £35 for 700ml. The drink is bursting with notes of strawberry, raspberry & Madagascan vanilla alongside a hint of citrus and pink pepper. With just 6,000 bottles available, this gin creates the perfect celebratory gin & tonic with fresh strawberries for a very regal toast.
Croxsons’ striking bottle complements Silent Pool Gin’s Platinum Celebration release
A limited edition celebratory gin commemorating Queen Elizabeth’s II’s Platinum Jubilee, has been recently released by award-winning distillers, Silent Pool Gin. The signature bottle, which features Silent Pool Gin’s iconic patterning, was provided by glass packaging company, Croxsons.
“The bottle was created with the vision of celebrating the once in a lifetime occasion that is Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, while still recognisably a Silent Pool Gin product,” said Sophie Best, Silent Pool’s operations director. “For this we turned our now iconic copper pattern a gorgeous shade of platinum and created metallic, platinum coloured stickers that are placed on the belly and neck of the bottle, depicting the dates of Her Majesty’s reign.
“We think the final outcome is absolutely breath-taking. The platinum colour of the pattern is impossible to miss and perfectly represents the Platinum Jubilee. It’s truly something very special, which we’ll never do again.”
