MP praises PFF’s commitment to innovation

Washington and Sunderland West MP Sharon Hodgson has praised the UK’s PFF Packaging Group – a producer of thermoformed plastic food packaging – for its commitment to innovation and product development.

Her comments came during a visit to the company’s £1 million Innovation Centre in Washington, Tyne & Wear, as part of her post Brexit ‘insight’ tour of constituency businesses, which gives employers an opportunity to discuss any concerns or issues in the wake of the UK’s decision to leave the EU.

“It was wonderful to visit PFF Packaging and see all the work they are doing at their factory in Washington, especially the investment into their new innovation centre,” says Hodgson. “Local businesses are crucial to our local economy and to our whole country’s economy. It is important to continue speaking to and meeting with local businesses, especially as we begin the process of leaving the EU and making sure that both businesses, jobs and people’s livelihoods are protected.”
