Food company’s Polish preparations for future growth

OSI Food Solutions Poland has unveiled a new £20 million (€25m) production facility.

The new building, in Ostroda, Poland, will house a state-of-the-art beef processing plant, replacing an older existing facility in the area. It will also help safeguard the roles of its 93 employees, says the firm.

“It makes perfect sense to keep the new plant in the same geographical area, because we have developed a team of people and a local expertise here,” says OSI Europe’s commercial director John Gray. “OSI has been operating in Poland since 1991, and we wanted to retain this existing team of valued employees.”

Phase one of the project includes a three-story, 6,000sq m processing and storage building. The plant is expected to be operational in the second quarter of 2013, with an estimated production capacity of 25,000 tonnes.
