Food and drink manufacturers invited to new high-tech virtual cleaning event

Food and drink manufacturing professionals have been invited to attend a new digital event, Cleaning Interactive, the cleaning industry’s first high-tech event incorporating visualisation technology, which takes place online from 6-7 October 2020.

Created in consultation with key industry figures, the event will enable the food manufacturing sector to safely and effectively see the latest innovations in the cleaning industry being showcased. The event’s technology will allow attendees to interact with the speakers in real-time, set one-to-one appointments, see demos and network with contacts.

Combining cutting-edge visualisation technology with an intuitive, user-friendly interface, the digital event promises to deliver all the standard features of a live trade show (from one-to-one appointments, meetings and demos, to video and literature distribution and networking), while taking online exhibitor and visitor relations to a new level.

Special features will include an interactive stage, with virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) for an almost full sensory experience. Top tier exhibitors will be able to demonstrate their products from an immersive studio, with bespoke 3D sets and mixed reality elements.

Some of the organisations and brands who have already committed to being involved in the event include the British Institute of Cleaning Science; Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies; CBRE; Churchill Group Services; Denis Rawlins; Incentive QAS; Katrin; Metsä; Metzger; the National Carpet Cleaners Association; and the Worshipful Company of Environmental Cleaners.

On 7 October there will be an additional exclusive, closed, invitation-only ‘Meet the buyer’ platform. Five high profile buyers will invite 20 companies to hone their pitches and take part in a competition for the accolade of best innovation, with tips and advice provided on how to attract customers. The finalists will present live on the interactive stage, with top contracts on offer.

Ceris Burns, managing director of show creator, CBI VR Experiences, said: “We wanted to create a new robust event for the cleaning industry, to bridge the gap of safely and effectively getting in front of decision makers whatever the world throws at us.

“One aspect of hope from the pandemic has been the opportunity to make positive changes to the way we do business. In terms of events, it’s time to re-assess why we go to them and what our desired outcomes are. Engaging with valuable new customers and suppliers is still one of the primary drivers. Our virtual event format readily provides for this, while keeping within the realms of new safety standards and requirements. Change is needed and we believe this new approach will boost the industry by creating a fresh expectation and a deadline for exhibitors and visitors to do business.”
