The Adult Non-Alcoholic Beverage Association (ANBA) has established a voice for European & UK producers as consumer preferences switch increasingly to non-alcoholic alternatives.

The formation of the second chapter meets the need for global standards and a unified voice in this sector, the ANBA said.

The first chapter, established in North America, works to foster growth in the beer, wine, spirits, and ready-to-drink cocktails categories, and ensure that consumers have access to a wide range of non-alcoholic drinks for every social occasion.

The ANBA’s aim is to tackle the absence of universal regulations, improve guidelines for international trade and market expansion, and provide a central entity for key stakeholders – consumers, retailers, suppliers, and complementary industries.

Founding board members of ANBA UK/EU include Lyre’s Spirits Co, Thomson & Scott Noughty, Savyll, lsh Spirits, Drop Bear Beers, Mocktails, Lucky Saint, Big Drop Brewing, and Mindful Brands.

“With market share growing faster than regulation, this new ANBA UK/EU chapter has an important task to ensure regulatory landscapes remain fair and give consumers confidence in the quality of the products our members offer,” said Mark Livings, ANBA board chair and Lyre’s Sprits Co co-founder.

The UK/EU chapter of ANBA said it “will work in alignment with the North American chapter, creating a paradigm shift in the non-alcoholic category and fundamentally changing the way people drink around the world”.

Amanda Thomson, CEO and founder Thomson & Scott said with alcohol-free producers becoming increasingly relevant in the global drinks market, the “timing of ANBA’s launch is perfect” and gives producers a voice and a platform that gives them the “much needed opportunity to put our flag in the sand on the issues that matter. It’s a game-changer!”

In the US, the association represents names such as Athletic Brewing Co., CERIA Brewing, Grüvi, H2OPS Sparkling Hop Water, Hella Cocktail Co. Partake Brewing, Ritual Zero Proof, Spiritless, Starla Wines, Töst, WellBeing Brewing Co, and over 60 other adult non-alcoholic beverage brands.
