ENGINE Gin makes its UK retail

ENGINE has secured a national off-trade listing in Tesco.

ENGINE, distributed in the UK by Illva Saronno Holding group which names Disaronno and Tia Maria within its spirits portfolio, launched in the UK at the end of 2021.

In just over six months the premium organic gin, with an aromatic and sage and lemon palette, has secured on-trade listings with BikeShed London, Flight Club, The Donovan Bar (one of the leading cocktail bar in the world), Browns, Mitchells & Butlers and premium e-tailers like Whiskey Exchange, with Tesco forming the gin’s largest current retail stockist in 534 stores across the UK.

The brand’s hero item, its 700ml ENGINE Gin Can will be available to purchase on Tesco online, as well as through Tesco stores at £32.

Founder of ENGINE, Paolo Dalla Mora said he is excitef for ENGINE as the brand begins to increase its international market reach outside of Italy, into key territories of the UK.

‘Winning Tesco as a stockist in our first year is a huge achievement, and improves our long term mission to have ENGINE in the hands of the UK’s gin drinkers,” Dalla Mora said. “With our iconic racing-inspired can and 100% Italian sourced botanicals, we offer retailers like Tesco a unique take on gin that hasn’t been seen in the UK before.”

Tesco customers are in for an extra special treat as the cans hitting shelves contain a new batch of ENGINE Gin.

The new specially blended batch is crafted using sage leaves picked in May, in Langhe shire, Piedmont. Harvested before the hottest seasons and full maturation, to preserve and enhance the natural oils of Sage, the queen of botanicals in Engine Gin formula.

The new batch is naturally rich in aromatic components, with pleasant herbaceous notes and a special kick that gives the whole formula an extra gear.

Further to their growing UK presence, ENGINE, which stands out for its distinct flavour character, is also celebrating three triumphant award wins at the 2022 International SIP Awards.

The SIP Awards stands apart as the only internationally recognised consumer judging spirits competition, to which ENGINE won: the Consumer Evaluated Innovation Award, the Gold Sip Award for International Consumer Tasing and Double Gold for Package Design.

Founded by Paolo Dalla Mora, entrepreneur and consultant in the fashion and spirits sectors, the ENGINE design is inspired by oil and fuel cans, motocross races and racing vehicles.

The sustainable packaging references various 80s retro details of which are a tribute to the characteristic world of racing.
