Cotswold Distillery targets rising spritz demand

Cotswolds Distillery has introduced Cotswolds Wild Spritz, a bittersweet English aperitivo created to capitalise on the UK’s fast‑growing spritz and aperitivo moment.
The launch aligns with rising demand for premium, flavour‑forward drinks suited to relaxed, lower‑ABV social occasions — a trend driving innovation across the spirits sector.
Unveiled at the opening of the distillery’s new bar, The Hidden Still, the aperitivo is positioned as a distinctly English alternative to the Italian‑led category.
Crafted with lavender, hops, lemon balm and distilled fresh orange peel, the serve delivers a refreshing, bittersweet profile with a drier finish — a deliberate move to appeal to consumers seeking more refined, countryside‑inspired flavours.
Founder and CEO Daniel Szor says the launch reflects both consumer behaviour and brand ambition: “Cotswolds Wild Spritz is an exciting new addition to our drinks portfolio and we are delighted to be launching it at our new distillery bar. It’s perfect for the long, relaxed drinking occasion — and what better place to enjoy it than in the heart of the beautiful English countryside.”
Bottled at 30% ABV and presented in a clear glass bottle decorated with botanical illustrations, the aperitivo is designed for simple, premium serves. At The Hidden Still, visitors could enjoy it as a spritz with sparkling wine and soda, alongside a curated cocktail menu from mixologist Ollie Morris.
