Freixenet adds non-alc aperitivo to portfolio

Freixenet has announced a swift expansion of its newly minted Solare line with the upcoming launch of Freixenet Solare Alcohol-free.
Scheduled to hit shelves in June 2026, the non-alcoholic Mediterranean aperitivo arrives just months after the early spring debut of the brand’s classic alcoholic version.
The rollout is designed to help retailers capitalise directly on two colliding macro-consumer movements: the global Spritz trend and the rapidly growing consumer preference for mindful, low-and-no alcohol enjoyment. By introducing a zero-alcohol alternative to its premium aperitivo, Freixenet aims to capture the sober curious demographic and those who want the social experience of a modern, uncomplicated aperitivo without the alcohol content.
Ready-to-mix versatility with natural botanicals
A major driver behind the product’s development is the rising popularity of ready-to-mix, customisable zero-proof cocktails. Freixenet Solare Alcohol-free is engineered specifically to serve as a premium base for non-alcoholic spritz variations, allowing its aromatic profile to unfold fully when paired with mixers.
To replicate the premium sensory experience of a traditional Italian or Spanish aperitivo, the liquid is formulated using 100% natural flavours. It mirrors the exact taste profile of the core alcoholic line, combining sun-ripened Spanish citrus fruits with a refined blend of selected Mediterranean botanicals, including savoury notes of rosemary and thyme.
Visual distinction for the mindful consumer
Recognising that navigating the non-alcoholic aisle can often be confusing for grocery shoppers, Freixenet has placed a heavy emphasis on packaging design to drive point-of-sale velocity.
The product is housed in Freixenet’s iconic, sun-inspired bottle to maintain its Mediterranean brand identity and command strong shelf presence. However, to ensure clear consumer guidance and quick product recognition, the brand has deployed a distinct, light blue label that immediately communicates its non-alcoholic status to shoppers.
Freixenet Solare Alcohol-free will be packaged in a 0.7-litre bottle format. The product is set for a coordinated European launch, rolling out initially across Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, and the UK.
