Noble Foods tucks into dessert market
Noble Foods, Britain’s biggest egg producer, has secured another slice of the dessert market with the purchase of a majority stake in premium pudding maker Gü, in a deal thought to be worth between £30-£35 (£34-40m).
The acquisition follows Noble’s takeover of another premium pudding group, Serious Desserts, in August 2008.
Gu Chocolate Pudding founder and managing director James Averdieck will retain a stake in the firm and continue to manage the group within Noble Foods.
