Nominate your bakery champion

Sarah Farrow, UCB, one of Dawn Foods' Student Ambassadors 2025.
Dawn Foods UK and Ireland, a maker of bakery ingredients, is searching for its 2026 Student Ambassadors.
For the ambassadorship positions, the company is seeking applicants who are enrolled in a baking degree program, pursuing a level four bakery qualification, or working as an apprentice in the bakery industry.
As Ambassadors, students will gain valuable hands-on work experience with the company during their studies. There will be the chance to demonstrate their creativity in recipe development using Dawn products and find out more about new product development.
Student Ambassadors will help with content for Dawn’s editorial and digital campaigns too. Past Student Ambassadors have created blog posts for the Dawn website and have even been featured in the trade press – ideal for those looking for a career in food marketing.
Jacqui Passmore, marketing lead West EU & AMEAP at Dawn Foods and also president of the Alliance of Bakery Students and Trainees (ABST) explains more: “The Dawn Student Ambassador Programme has been running for more than eight years and is part of our on-going commitment to nurturing new talent in the industry. It is a varied programme and a great way for students not only to gain valuable insight into bakery manufacturing but to get their name noticed in the wider bakery industry too. In turn, Dawn benefits from the fresh, on-trend ideas that the students have and we really enjoy having different students as part of the team each year.“
“We are looking for Ambassadors who are passionate about the bakery industry, and excited about new ideas and trends in the market. If you think you have what it takes, the application is easy, so do give it a go!”
Sarah Farrow, from University College Birmingham who was one of Dawn’s three 2025 Student Ambassadors sums up why she applied to the programme and what she has learned along the way: “I applied to become a Dawn Student Ambassador because it seemed a great opportunity to get my name known into the industry as well as to give me a better understanding of the types of jobs available in food manufacturing. I didn’t have the opportunity to gain much bakery experience before I came to university so connecting with a large company like Dawn was important to me.
“The opportunity has really helped me to develop ‘soft skills’, such as communication, video editing and blog writing while working on recipe development. This has encouraged me to have confidence in my ideas and to work with new ingredients. Professionally I have learned about the dynamics of the bakery industry, which has been invaluable. It’s amazing how many people are involved in the launch of a new product from teams across the world!”
The deadline for applications is 31 October 2025. For more information on how to become a Dawn Foods Student and Bakery Apprentice Ambassador email Jacqui Passmore [email protected]
