At a period of substantial expansion, Omas has announced its strategic entry into the UK and Northern Europe with a new company, Omas Northern Europe.

The business has a bold hiring strategy to bolster its global footprint, and orders are steadily increasing, and will be led by Peter Marriott, former sales manager of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of equipment for the rice, wheat, and corn industries, with over 30 years of experience in the sector.

“I am deeply honoured that a professional like Peter has chosen Omas, and I am sure he will contribute to promoting our technologies and market presence while providing essential support to customers,” said Pietro Barbalarga, commercial director of Omas Industries.

The decision to expand meets with the growing market demand for solutions in grain milling as the industry requires efficient and flexible production processes, integrating automation and digitalisation in mills. The goal is to modernise a traditionally conservative industry, shaping it into a smart factory capable of offering technological advancements to customers worldwide.

“The milling industry must embrace new production methods and products. This will help it adapt to evolving consumer lifestyles while meeting global carbon reduction and environmental protection targets,” says Luigi Nalon, CEO of Omas Industries.

“I am delighted to join the team,” comments Peter Marriott, the new general manager of Omas Northern Europe. “I was profoundly impressed by Omas’ technology, particularly the Flexy Mill. This system allows for real-time adjustments of multiple parameters during the milling process, enabling adaptation to various grains and legumes without compromising performance or product quality.

“Thanks to torque motors, millers can increase or decrease the peripheral speed of the two grinding rollers, change the grinding ratio, adjust the operating position of the rollers, modify the grinding gap, create customized recipes, and more. I firmly believe that Omas’ innovative solutions can bring tangible improvements to the UK and Northern European markets.”

The success of Omas Industries’ machinery and Flexy Mill has been acknowledged by leading global producers of flour and milling equipment. For these projects, Omas has provided machinery or implemented turn-key plants, helping companies increase their revenue and profitability.

Ongoing research and development not only enhance production efficiency but also contribute to reducing environmental impact, demonstrating a tangible commitment to a more sustainable future in grain processing.

Gabriele Nicoletti, technical director of Omas, explains: “Omas’ innovation and continuous development focus on enabling customers to produce new products with advanced milling machinery. More than ever, it is essential to meet food safety, energy efficiency, and traceability requirements in the production process.”

“Omas is ready to bring its expertise and cutting-edge technology to a market increasingly interested in advanced solutions, positioning itself as a strong alternative to traditional milling methods,” continues Nalon. “With Peter Marriott joining our team, we believe his expertise will enhance our product offering, contributing to a positive impact on the UK and Northern European markets.”
