Lantmännen Unibake expands European savoury market footprint

One of the biggest bakery groups in Europe, Lantmännen Unibake, a division of the Swedish agricultural cooperative Lantmännen, has purchased Boboli Benelux, a Dutch leader in savoury baked goods that offers clients solutions for chilled and bake-off technologies.

With a focus on Mediterranean flatbreads, such as focaccias, pizzas, and pizza crusts, Boboli Benelux has made a name for itself in the Benelux, the UK, and Germany. About 200 people work for the company, which also runs a cutting-edge bakery in Bunschoten that will be Unibake’s first location in the Netherlands.

The acquisition reflects both market trends and strategic priorities. Boboli Benelux. brings deep expertise, significant capacity, and a solid track record of growth supported by recent investments. It will serve as a cornerstone in Unibake’s expansion in the savoury segment.

Carsten Thomsen, president of Lantmännen Unibake, snoted that the acquisition of Boboli Benelux as a strong step forward in expanding the portfolio and strengthening its position in the fast-growing European bake-off market.
