Sovereign Labelling Machines, the UK-based manufacturer of high-quality labelling and sleeving systems, is forecasting a year of significant expansion in 2026, building upon a highly successful 2025.
The company is actively investing in capacity, people, and technology to meet surging customer demand fuelled by the packaging industry’s focus on sustainability, digitalisation, automation, and efficiency.
Sovereign is positioning its expertly engineered solutions to help brands, contract manufacturers, and co-packers transform labelling and sleeving from an operational constraint into a competitive advantage.
The past 12 months have seen a massive influx of landmark customer wins and system installations, solidifying Sovereign’s reputation as the go-to manufacturer across diverse markets, including FMCG, beverages, and dairy.
Thomas Glendinning, Sovereign Labelling Machines managing director, noted that the UK manufacturing facility has been operating non-stop for the last 12 months to fulfil orders. This demand spans complex, multi-process systems engineered for the most challenging requirements faced by customers in the UK, Europe, and further afield.
Jordan Hynes, business development manager, added that simultaneously, they are seeing high demand for tailormade systems that offer the same high level of performance and functionality but are also straightforward, versatile, agile, and easy to operate. Regardless of complexity, all customers are seeking solutions that efficiently and effectively apply artwork, maximise shelf appeal, and achieve an impactful brand presentation.
Customers are increasingly turning to Sovereign to capitalize on its unique, fully in-house capabilities. The company manages the entire process—from design, assembly, build, and testing of tailor-made lines at its Essex base, to the fabrication of components and framework elsewhere within the ENE Group. This makes Sovereign uniquely positioned as the only supplier fully manufacturing labelling and sleeving solutions in the UK.
With strong demand continuing through Q4 and into Q1, 2026 is projected to be another landmark year. This growth trajectory is prompting a heavy investment in production capacity and capability. Sovereign has undertaken an extensive recruitment drive across all departments and is actively identifying new premises to allow it to build and ship even more systems to customers in the UK, Ireland, and overseas.
International growth is a priority. While the company has achieved great success through its work with OEM partners, the future roadmap includes strengthening its presence in key geographies through local agents and distributors.
Thomas Glendinning concluded: “All of these developments have the same end goal: to deliver precise, consistent, reliable, and efficient labelling and sleeving that supports businesses today and is ready for the future.”
