Lactasoy Co. has launched the country’s first high-protein UHT milk under its new brand, Benefitt.

The launch is made possible by SIG’s advanced aseptic filling technology, which allows a high-performance product typically restricted to the cold chain to move into the ambient aisle.

Until now, high-protein milk in Thailand was primarily available in pasteurised formats, requiring refrigeration and offering a limited shelf life.

By leveraging SIG’s Small 24 Aseptic filling machine, Benefitt High Protein UHT Milk can be stored at room temperature, enabling nationwide distribution —including a launch at 7-Eleven stores — without the logistical burden of a cold chain.

The core of this operational success is the SIG Small 24 Aseptic filling machine. For food and beverage producers, the system offers a combination of high-speed output (24,000 packs per hour) and versatility.

Key technical features of the SIG Small 24 include:

  • 16 packaging options: producers can choose from various formats, volumes, and opening solutions on a single machine.
  • Rapid changeovers: the system allows for quick volume and format adjustments, enabling Lactasoy to pivot between product lines with minimal downtime.
  • Ambient shelf life: aseptic processing preserves the milk’s 31g of protein and smooth, low-viscosity texture for months without preservatives.

One of the most significant advantages for Lactasoy was the ability to enter a new category without the typical capital expenditure associated with new production lines.

SIG’s flexible filling technology allowed the brand to innovate within its existing footprint, providing the agility to respond to the growing demand for convenient meal replacements and health-conscious beverages.

“The UHT format allows us to deliver high nutritional value without the need for refrigeration,” said Phanwana Mahasup, advertising manager and marketing coordinator at Lactasoy. “The SIG packaging gives us a solution that is easy to carry and suitable for nationwide distribution.”

Vatcharapong Ungsrisawasdi, SIG’s regional director for Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia, added: “This launch shows how flexible aseptic filling technology can open new opportunities and help customers innovate and expand into new categories efficiently.”

The introduction of Benefitt represents a “next step” in the evolution of Thailand’s dairy sector. By combining the nutritional density of 31g of protein with the “on-the-go” convenience of a 350 ml ambient carton, Lactasoy and SIG are redefining the standard for functional dairy in Southeast Asia.
