Pip Organic expands “tween” strategy with school-compliant drinks

Pip Organic, the award-winning independent producer of organic snacks and beverages, has announced the expansion of its market-first “Fizz” range with the launch of Apple Cherry Fizz.
The new SKU aims to bridge the gap between early childhood juices and adult soft drinks, specifically targeting the “tween” demographic (ages 8–14). The launch comes at a time when the UK kids’ beverage market is seeing a significant shift toward clean-label and school-compliant options that avoid ultra-processed ingredients.
Redefining the school compliant category
As educational institutions tighten nutritional standards, Pip Organic has engineered the Fizz range to meet UK School Food Standards. Unlike traditional sodas, the Apple Cherry Fizz contains:
- 100% organic ingredients: a blend of organic apples, cherries, grapes, and sparkling water.
- No “Nasties”: zero added sugars, sweeteners, flavourings, or fruit concentrates.
- Nutritional value: each 250ml can provides one of the recommended five-a-day fruit portions.
Designed for tweens, approved by parents
The range was born from a personal need identified by co-founders Patrick and Karen O’Flaherty. When their daughter reached the age of 10, they noticed a lack of sophisticated, “grown-up” sparkling options that didn’t compromise on health.
To ensure the product resonated with its intended audience, the vibrant, bold can design underwent rigorous testing via kids’ focus groups. This “tween-approved” aesthetic allows older children to enjoy a carbonated beverage that feels contemporary rather than “babyish,” while maintaining the Soil Association Certification that parents trust.
“Our mission is to make it easier for parents to say ‘yes!’ by providing drinks that are both great-tasting and genuinely good for you,” says Pip Organic co-founder Patrick O’Flaherty.
The Apple Cherry Fizz follows the successful 2024 debut of Apple Fizz. The new flavour is currently available via: Abel & Cole, Pip Organic D2C channels, and selected independent retailers.
