Crosta Mollica expands premium range

Crosta Mollica has announced a significant spring expansion of its chilled and frozen portfolio.
Rolling out across Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Ocado, the launch includes six new products designed to meet surging consumer demand for authentic, restaurant-quality Italian experiences at home.
The expansion comes on the heels of a landmark year for the brand. In 2025, Crosta Mollica recorded an extraordinary 48% growth, starkly outperforming a total pizza sector that saw only 1% growth. This momentum has propelled the brand to the number two position in supermarket pizza sales, up from number five just 18 months ago.
Capitalising on the rising popularity of white pizzas in high-end Italian eateries, Crosta Mollica is introducing the Pizza Base Bianca. As the market leader in ready-to-top sourdough bases, the brand is providing a new “canvas” for home cooks.
Moving away from the traditional, heavy buttered baguette, Crosta Mollica is introducing a lighter, more authentic Roman-style Pinsa.
The Spring quartet: four new signature pizzas
Crosta Mollica continues to explore the diverse regional flavours of Italy with four distinct additions to their pizza range:
| Product | Key highlights | Availability | RRP |
| Primavera | Taggiasca olives, balsamic-infused red onions, and a unique lemongrass & mascarpone sauce. | Sainsbury’s (chilled) & Ocado (Frozen) | £5.75 |
| Siciliana | Vegan-friendly. A Puttanesca-style base with PGI Tropea Red Onions, caper crumb, and Sicilian oregano. | Tesco (Exclusive – frozen) | £5.75 |
| Quattro Formaggi | A blend of Gorgonzola, smoky Provola, Mozzarella, and Parmigiano Reggiano. | Ocado (Live Now) | £5.50 |
| Salami Napoli Pizzette | A 2-pack of 20cm pizzas featuring premium pepper salami and buffalo mozzarella. | Ocado (Live Now) | £5.75 |
“The growth we are seeing is absolutely phenomenal. We are inspired to continue exploring different corners of Italy to bring new toppings and combinations to the UK. With the Pizza Base Bianca, we aim to give our customers more freedom to be creative at home—as long as there isn’t a pineapple in sight,” said David Milner, chairman at Crosta Mollica.
As UK consumers increasingly pivot toward premiumisation, Crosta Mollica’s focus on authentic regional ingredients — such as Aceto Balsamico di Modena PGI and Ligurian Taggiasca olives — positions them as the primary innovator in a stagnant wider market. Whether through the versatility of the new Pinsa or the specialist flavours of the Siciliana, the brand continues to bridge the gap between the Italian pizzeria and the British dining table.
