Decaf demand drives Lost Sheep’s new fibre‑boosted iced latte

Lost Sheep Coffee has launched a new Sugar Cane Iced Decaf Latte with Fibre — a product created to meet surging demand for high‑quality decaf, functional benefits and gut‑friendly formulations.
The release responds to three fast‑moving 2026 drinks trends: decaf growth, functionality, and fibre enrichment. More than one in four UK consumers (26%) have increased their decaf intake over the past year, driven by mindful caffeine consumption and a desire for better‑quality decaf options.
Lost Sheep Coffee identified a gap in the market where most RTD decaf iced coffees rely on instant coffee, cold brew, or lower‑grade decaf beans, resulting in weaker flavour and a perception of compromise. Founder Stuart Wilson said the brand wanted to create a decaf iced latte “people won’t believe is decaf,” offering barista‑quality depth, chocolate notes and a big mouthfeel.
At the same time, the UK functional drinks market is accelerating, with 24% of shoppers seeking beverages offering added benefits such as vitamins or fibre. Lost Sheep’s new variant delivers 4.5g of chicory root fibre per can, tapping into the gut‑health trend while maintaining a clean, speciality‑grade profile.
The product also aligns with the brand’s commitment to traceability and craft roasting. The decaf beans are processed using the sugar cane method, which gently removes caffeine while preserving flavour — a point of difference from harsher decaffeination techniques. The coffee is then hand‑roasted in small batches, hot‑brewed and flash‑chilled to retain smoothness and aroma.
The Sugar Cane Iced Decaf Latte with Fibre combines speciality‑grade sugar‑cane‑processed decaf coffee; skimmed milk; Chicory root fibre (4.5g per can) and 4.3g sugar per 100g.
It launches in July at an RRP of £2.35 for a 250ml can, positioned as a premium RTD iced coffee that delivers quality, flavour and functionality without relying on instant coffee or cold brew shortcuts.
Wilson said the brand is “challenging the perception that decaf RTD means compromise,” adding that the new release is designed for consumers who want craft coffee credentials, functional benefits, and a more mindful caffeine routine.
