HIDE expands Tesco footprint with five new Meal Deal and snacking additions

Ready-to-eat brand HIDE — created by Lean Kitchen Network alongside scientific ambassador Dr Rupy Aujla and co-owner Grace Beverley — is expanding its portfolio in selected Tesco stores with the introduction of five new products spanning the food-to-go and snacking categories.
Meal Deal scaling
The brand’s Chicken Shawarma Grain Bowl is now stocked in an additional 200 food-to-go stores, bringing HIDE’s meal-deal range to 990 Tesco locations as part of the retailer’s Premium Meal Deal tier (£5.50 with a Tesco Clubcard, £6 without). Developed with chefs from BAO, Jason Atherton, and Galvin, the recipe uses whole ingredients built around strict nutritional parameters.
The dish combines tender chicken breast on a bed of Shawarma-spiced spelt and chickpeas, chilli-roasted sweet potato, citrus pickle, and spinach, finished with a garlic and herb dressing and red pepper hummus. Nutritionally, the grain bowl provides 28g of protein, 8g of fibre, 374 calories, and two of your five-a-day, with less than 5g of added sugar. Formulation excludes protein powders, fibre isolates, and artificial flavourings.
Entering the snack category
In parallel, HIDE is launching a four-strong snack line across 300 Tesco stores, featuring two chicken bite multipacks and two snacking trays. The expansion responds to market data showing a 556% increase in global search demand for “on-the-go healthy snacks” over the past year.
Positioned as a flavour-first, nutrient-focused alternative, the snack range uses 100% chicken thigh without fillers, emulsifiers, preservatives, or artificial colourings.
Formulation principles and market rationale
The brand’s expansion addresses consumer demand for transparent convenience foods made with recognisable kitchen ingredients rather than industrial additives. Summarising the brand’s core product philosophy, Dr Rupy Aujla states: “To put it simply, we’re making meals you can eat every day that your body will thank you for.”
