Tetra Pak, one of the world’s leading suppliers of processing and packaging equipment to the food industry, is investing £32.6 million in two new buildings in Lund, Sweden.

Dennis Jansson, President & CEO, Tetra Pak Group, comments,“This investment provides us with flexible premises for units such as our research and development department. The new buildings will enable us to increase our productivity in both development and production and will more than meet our future space requirements.
The new premises, with a floor space of 13,000 sq metres will accommodate 430 workplaces and a machine hall of 5,000 sq metres. Construction is planned to begin at the turn of 2007/2008 with a completion date at the end of 2009. Tetra Pak will ensure that energy efficiency and environmental awareness will be considered at all stages of the construction process.
Garan Harryson, managing director, AB Tetra Pak, adds,“As a result of this investment we will have the potential to further strengthen our position as the technological centre for the Tetra Pak Group.
The investment in Lund follows the announcement in March of plans to build a £60 million state-of-the-art packaging plant in Hohhot, China.
