Rachel’s unveils Greek style Lemon and Gin yogurt

Rachel’s has announced the launch of its new Greek style Lemon and Gin yogurt, available exclusively in Sainsbury’s stores across the UK to mark its 25-year relationship with the retailer.

As the first major UK retailer to stock the Rachel’s range, a purpose built dairy was constructed in Aberystwyth to deal with the new nationwide demand. Still based there today, Rachel’s now sells over 20million packs of yogurt in the UK each year.

Responding to consumer demand for variety and distinction, the new product will offer an alternative to the existing Greek style range. It also taps into the increasing popularity of gin, a spirit which has experienced growth over the past few years having recently returned to the inflation basket after a 13-year absence.

Daniel Wheeler, marketing manager at Rachel’s, says, “We are thrilled to celebrate 25 years of working with Sainsbury’s and are extremely proud of how far Rachel’s has come since it secured its first listing in the supermarket all those years ago. We are committed to providing consumers with innovative flavour combinations and feel that our new Greek Style Lemon & Gin is a pertinent one for such occasion. We’re confident that this combination will prove popular with consumers, given that it hero’s the current tipple of choice, and hope it will be enjoyed by many Sainsbury’s customers this summer.”

The new flavour will be launching in Sainsbury’s from 22 May 2017.
