EHL Ingredients reveals shift in UK product demand during coronavirus situation

During the ongoing epidemic, EHL Ingredients has noted a shift in demand for its products, which are supplied under the company’s Lähde brand.

In the last couple of weeks, products such as rice, flours, lentils, grains such as quinoa and couscous and bakery ingredients have been shipped out to food retailers and manufacturers across the UK.

Tasneem Backhouse, joint managing director at EHL Ingredients, said: “We are in extraordinary times, and when we would usually be supplying ingredients such as dried fruits for Easter products and spice blends and marinades for BBQ foods, we are experiencing increases in sales for rice, flours, grains, lentils and bakery ingredients.

“We fully expect retailers and food manufacturers to reduce orders for non-essentials items, and secure more supplies of store cupboard necessities, lentils and kidney beans, popular spice blends and dried herbs such as coriander and oregano.

“We have plenty of stock available and also have ingredients for gluten-free, vegan and organic foods.”

EHL Ingredients stocks over 300 dried herbs and spices, blends and seasonings, chillies, seeds, beans and pulses, dried fruits and nuts, dehydrated vegetables, oils, oats, flours, salt and sugars. All are available in conventional and organic formats with many suitable for organic, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free foods.
