OGGS launches UK's first patented plant-based egg alternative

OGGS, the UK brand offering vegan alternatives to support plant-based diets, has released its OGGS Aquafaba, a ready-to-pour liquid egg alternative which is set to completely reshape the future of home cooking and baking. It reportedly whips, whisks and binds just like egg whites.

100% plant-based and low in calories, OGGS Aquafaba is made using chickpea water, which is naturally free from egg, dairy, gluten and soy and therefore a suitable choice for people with allergies or anyone looking for plant-based, sustainable swaps in their diet.

OGGS is on a mission to create change by making eggless cooking and baking accessible to as many people as possible, as well as helping the planet at the same time. Together, the brand says that lots of small changes, like swapping eggs for OGGS, lead to a much bigger, positive impact on animals and the planet. OGGS Aquafaba also comes in packaging that is FSC sustainably sourced and fully recyclable.

The new product comes in a ready-to-pour 200ml carton, which is the equivalent to four eggs but is longer lasting as it can be stored in a cupboard for up to 12 months.

Available now in Waitrose and The Vegan Kind Supermarket. OGGS Aquafaba will also be launching in Sainsbury’s and ASDA in September, priced from £1.99 for 200ml.
