Welcome aboard!

We are delighted to announce that two of the biggest names in the food and drink industry have this month joined the Food & Drink Technology editorial advisory board.

The first is Dr Steven Walker, the new director general of food and drink research organisation Campden BRI. He joined the business in 1987 and over the past 22 years has, through a range of senior roles, worked closely with the organisation’s members, government and trade bodies, playing a major role in both scientific and commercial developments. Steven has also been actively involved in the evaluation of other research organisations in the UK and overseas.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Alice Pegg BSc (Hons), who is head of the Food Innovation Department at Leatherhead Food Research, where she oversees a team of experts in ingredients, product development, microscopy, sensory and consumer services.
She has a broad experience of the food and drink industry, having worked with a large number of clients from the UK, Europe and US. She has worked at Leatherhead Food International for 25 years, spending much of her early career in the Ingredients Department, where she developed her expertise in ingredient functionality and application. This was followed by three years co-ordinating, running and lecturing on all the ingredients training courses. She then worked in Business Development for three years before returning to the Science Division to take over her current role. She regularly speaks at conferences and other events on innovations, trends, and technical aspects of ingredients and product development.
