Multi-head weigher wins an oscar
Ishida’s multi-head weigher range, the RV series, has received an award for innovation from one of the world’s leading fruit and vegetable industry exhibitions.
The Oscar Macfrut awards are organised by Macfrut, an international exhibition dedicated to the fruit and vegetable supply chain that celebrates process and product innovation. The awards were created in 2010 to recognise companies whose products had made technical advances, helped to reduce costs and had further improved the consumer’s satisfaction.
The Ishida RV range was also rewarded for its product to an already established technology; an improvement that allowed the weighers to achieve 15% faster speeds than previous models, whilst still delivering the highest levels of accuracy of any multi-head weigher with close-to-zero giveaway. Which is why the new multi-head has become a quintessential part of any fruit and vegetable supply chain.
Some of the key features included were an improved user interface with an ultra-fast touch screen that promised a quick and easy set up. The CCW-RV can also be operated remotely via wireless access with tablets, androids and smart phones. There was even an enhanced security feature, which included fingerprint verification in order to receive access to the machine.
The IP67-rated hygienic design incorporates six-degree sloping, self-draining feeder covers and a nine degree sloping, self-draining main body, which minimises bacteria traps and allows faster and easier cleaning to increase uptime.
The new power management system provides three power modes (full, half and echo), depending on operating conditions. This helps to deliver 20% lower power consumption than the previous market leading Ishida R series; this also offered many manufacturers improved efficiency and good cost savings.
In addition, the CCW-RV maintains Ishida’s world renown durability, reliability and robust construction, which all allow the weigher to operate reliably even in the most difficult working environments.
