Italian producer Fiorentini chose to partner with Markem-Imaje for a robust, integrated industrial coding and data management solution to maintain its leadership in Italy’s competitive healthy snacks and cracker market.

The key to the solution is Markem-Imaje’s CoLOS software platform. This system operates in a high-level IT environment, communicating seamlessly and in parallel with both the factory’s central management and industrial automation programs.

This flexibility and real-time exchange capacity allows the system to automatically send the correct message to the correct piece of packaging relative to the item in production. This ensures that variable coding, such as dates, batch numbers, and specific allergen warnings, is applied accurately on every single item.

The solution manages distinct types of coding, from direct printing onto flexible packaging to the printing and application of labels on cartons and pallets, which is crucial for end-to-end traceability.
