Roquette secures NutraStrong certification for Nutriose portfolio

Roquette has achieved a major regulatory milestone with its Nutriose soluble fibre range earning the NutraStrong Prebiotic Verified product certification.
Issued by the third-party body SGS Nutrasource, this industry-spanning validation reinforces Roquette’s position in the high-growth gut health market by certifying that its manufacturing quality, label compliance, and clinical claims meet the most stringent global benchmarks.
The certification specifically applies to the Nutriose FM 06, FB 06, and FM 15S variants, which have already secured non-GMO Project Verified and low-FODMAP status.
This new layer of accreditation is designed to safeguard the industry against misleading marketing by ensuring only products with robust, science-based efficacy earn the NutraStrong seal. By passing this rigorous evaluation, Roquette has demonstrated that its fibres do more than just add bulk; they provide a verified prebiotic effect that supports the growth of beneficial gut bacteria.
The achievement is backed by a massive body of research spanning 25 years, including over 26 clinical studies and 30 preclinical trials. This scientific foundation has allowed Roquette to link its soluble fibres to a wide array of holistic health outcomes.
Beyond basic digestion, the Nutriose portfolio has demonstrated measurable benefits in blood glucose management, satiety, weight management, and sustained energy release. Emerging research from the company is now exploring the potential of these fibres to influence immune health and mental well-being, reflecting the growing consumer belief that the gut is a gateway to total body wellness.
Consumer demand for such transparency is at an all-time high, with global data indicating that 59% of people now view gut health as essential for overall physical health. Furthermore, awareness of prebiotics has reached 64% globally, with more than half of those consumers having purchased a prebiotic-enriched product in the last year.
Despite this enthusiasm, the complexity of the “gut-brain axis” and fibre fermentation means that manufacturers face increasing pressure to provide proof of quality. Kevin Yan, vice president of certifications at SGS Nutrasource, noted that Roquette’s commitment to this level of verification serves as a best-in-class example for the entire ingredient sector.
For food and beverage manufacturers, the Nutriose range offers a practical solution to the technical challenges of fortification. The plant-based fibres derived from wheat and corn are highly soluble, process-stable, and possess a neutral taste profile. This allows for seamless integration into various applications — from beverages to bakery products — without altering the original texture or flavour.
Caroline Perreau, nutrition & health research manager at Roquette, emphasised that this pursuit of scientific excellence is vital for creating a future of sustainable, health-focused ingredients that both customers and consumers can trust.
