deltaH Innovations, the packaging firm behind the patent-pending Cool>Can, has launched early access to its second Crowdcube funding round.

The company is seeking £500,000 to finance industrial pilots scheduled for this summer, following a wave of global interest from tier 1 beverage partners.

The Cool>Can is engineered to chill beverages instantly without the need for traditional refrigeration, ice, or power. Unlike previous attempts at self-cooling technology, deltaH’s design is fully recyclable and compatible with existing production infrastructure.

The company’s Cool>Convertor machine is designed to integrate into current canning lines, allowing standard cans to be transformed into self-cooling units without the need for expensive factory retooling.

The business has seen significant momentum over the past year:

  • Crowdfund success: in 2024, deltaH raised £313,185 via Crowdcube, more than doubling its initial £150,000 target.
  • Mainstream attention: early 2025 saw the technology featured on Sky News, Forbes, and the Daily Mail, leading to enquiries from multinational drinks groups and event operators.
  • Leadership recognition: founder and CEO James Vyse was named among Entrepreneur’s Top 100 Start-ups and has recently been invited to Atlanta for high-level meetings with major US beverage players.

With over 300 billion cans produced annually, the industry currently relies on carbon-heavy cold-chain logistics and energy-intensive retail fridges. deltaH argues that shifting the cooling process to the point of consumption significantly improves both sustainability and unit economics.

“The beverage industry is locked into refrigeration infrastructure that is expensive, carbon-heavy and often impractical outside major retail,” said James Vyse, founder and CEO. “If brands can offer a chilled drink anywhere, without fridges, power or ice, that changes unit economics and sustainability at the same time.”

The upcoming pilot programme will focus on safety standards and high-volume compatibility. Beyond standard retail, deltaH sees its technology unlocking new markets in festivals, travel, military operations, and emerging economies where reliable cold storage is often unavailable.

The company is positioning itself as a licensing platform for the soft drink, alcohol, and energy drink categories, offering investors a stake in what it describes as the “future of drinks packaging.”
