Batchelors unveils historic rebrand to modernise easy meals category

Premier Foods has announced the largest rebrand in the 130-year history of Batchelors, overhauling its entire 200-SKU portfolio to drive growth in the rapidly expanding easy meals sector.
The comprehensive refresh covers the brand’s three powerhouses: Super Noodles, Pasta ‘n’ Sauce, and Cup a Soup. The move is designed to modernise the brand’s visual identity while improving shelf navigation and highlighting “craveable comfort” to a new generation of shoppers.
The new packaging features a cleaner, more contemporary aesthetic that “dials up” taste cues — using high-quality product photography and bolder typography. Crucially for retailers, the redesign aims to create a consistent “brand block” in the aisle, making it easier for consumers to cross-shop between noodles, pasta, and soup formats.
Early consumer research conducted by Walnut in May 2025 indicates the strategy is working: purchase intent among existing Batchelors fans rose significantly, with 66% saying they would “definitely buy” the new-look packs compared to 53% for the previous design.
As the easy meals category continues to surge — growing by a staggering 122.6% year-on-year — the Batchelors rebrand offers a major advantage for store managers. The entire portfolio is non-HFSS, meaning the new, eye-catching packs can be used in prominent, high-footfall display locations (such as aisle ends and near checkouts) that are restricted for less healthy alternatives.
The relaunch is being supported by a massive £3.5 million investment, featuring Batchelors’ first new TV creative since 2019. The campaign includes:
- Fresh TV creative: spotlighting the iconic Super Noodles Chicken Pot.
- Large-format OOH & social: high-impact visuals designed to drive impulse “on-the-go” purchases.
- In-store activation: POS support to ensure the new look translates into immediate sales.
“This is a landmark moment,” said Kate Yateman-Smith, brand director of quick and easy meals at Premier Foods. “Our refreshed packaging brings a more modern feel while still celebrating the product itself. We are confident this new look will be a hit and will ultimately support our retail partners in growing sales.”
The rebrand follows a string of successful innovations, including the 2025 launch of microwavable Pasta ‘n’ Sauce pots and the brand’s first-ever Ravioli line.
By unifying these innovations under a single, modern visual identity, Premier Foods aims to solidify Batchelors’ position as the go-to solution for busy consumers seeking quality and convenience as well as dominate the lucrative, compliant, and fast-moving easy meals category.
