Premium mixer trailblazer Double Dutch has announced an evolution of its product portfolio, renaming its acclaimed ‘Riviera’ expression to Sun & Sea Tonic Water.

The transition is designed to secure long-term global trademark ownership as the brand accelerates its international scaling following its 10th anniversary in 2025.

The move marks a shift away from a specific geographic reference toward a lifestyle-oriented identity. While the name has evolved, the brand has confirmed that the award-winning liquid, the internal team, and all commercial terms remain unchanged. The rollout is already underway in the UK and is expected to be completed across the European Union within the next six months.

Since its launch in September 2025, the tonic has gained traction in elite hospitality settings, from five-star hotels to rooftop bars. By rebranding to Sun & Sea, Double Dutch aims to broaden the product’s appeal across diverse international markets without the limitations of regional naming.

Double Dutch co-founders Raissa and Joyce de Haas comment: “This evolution allows us to secure long-term global trademark protection as we scale internationally. Sun & Sea captures the same golden-hour energy – bright, refreshing and full of character – while giving us a name we can confidently scale internationally.”

Designed to tap into the thriving aperitivo culture and al fresco dining trends, Sun & Sea Tonic Water maintains the sophisticated botanical layering that defined its predecessor.

The resulting liquid is highly viscous and versatile, specifically engineered to pair with citrus-forward and herbaceous gins, white vermouth serves, and high-end low-and-no alcohol cocktails.

The rebrand comes at a period of significant growth for the twin-founded company. Celebrating a decade in business in 2025, Double Dutch continues to solidify its position in global premium hospitality. Sun & Sea is positioned as a menu-elevating mixer intended for year-round Mediterranean-inspired serves, reflecting the brand’s commitment to the art of slow summer sipping regardless of the season or territory.

By securing global trademark protection now, Double Dutch is laying the operational groundwork for continued expansion into North American and Asian markets, ensuring the brand’s identity is as protected as its proprietary recipes.
