Symrise has reported a robust first‑half performance for 2026, with momentum building across its core food and drink markets as organic sales growth accelerated sharply in Q2.

The flavour and fragrance specialist generated €2.54 billion in sales for the period, with Food & Beverage emerging as one of the company’s strongest growth engines.

Food & beverage delivers mid‑single‑digit growth

The Taste, Nutrition & Health segment – home to Symrise’s Food & Beverage activities – posted 4.9% organic sales growth in Q2, outpacing the company’s overall performance. Within this, Food & Beverage delivered market‑leading mid‑single‑digit growth, powered by:

  • Savoury — high‑single‑digit organic sales growth
  • Naturals — high‑single‑digit growth, reflecting strong demand for clean‑label ingredients
  • Sweet — mid‑single‑digit growth across beverage, confectionery and dairy applications

These gains helped lift segment sales to €782 million in Q2, up from €748 million a year earlier.

Regional momentum in key food markets

Symrise highlighted strengthening demand in North America and Asia Pacific, two regions central to global food and beverage innovation. Both markets contributed to the company’s accelerating Q2 growth, particularly in savoury, naturals and beverage‑focused sweet solutions.

Dr Jean‑Yves Parisot, CEO of Symrise AG, said the company’s food‑focused divisions were instrumental in driving second‑quarter momentum:

“We saw increasing momentum in the second quarter, driven by disciplined execution across our businesses and strong demand in Food & Beverage, Consumer Fragrance and Aroma Molecules.”

He added that Symrise’s naturals expertise – originally built through its Diana acquisition – will continue to shape future growth:

“We will leverage our proven Naturals capabilities, built through the acquisition of Diana and successfully established in Food & Beverage, to further expand our offering in Fine Fragrance and create differentiated solutions for our customers.”

Segment snapshot: where Symrise is winning in food & drink

  • Taste, nutrition & health — €1.53bn H1 sales; 3.2% organic growth
  • Food & beverage — mid‑single‑digit growth led by savoury, naturals and sweet
  • Pet food — slight decline due to price normalisation
  • Aroma molecules — high‑single‑digit growth supporting beverage and flavour innovation

Symrise reaffirmed its full‑year guidance, expecting 2–4% organic sales growth and maintaining margin ambitions as it accelerates its ONE SYM transformation programme. Strong pipelines in food and drink applications remain central to that confidence.
