Interfood Technology-Eberhardt partnership to enhance yields and ergonomics

Interfood Technology has finalised a new distribution partnership with German equipment specialist Eberhardt, bringing advanced food pressing, vacuum processing, continuous tumbling, and ergonomic handling machinery to food manufacturers across the UK and Ireland.
The partnership expands Interfood’s production line-up to address common operational challenges, including high raw material losses, inconsistent product geometry, throughput bottlenecks, and repetitive manual handling risks. Eberhardt brings over 60 years of stainless steel engineering experience across the meat, sausage, fish, cheese, and plant-based sectors.
Key processing solutions & operational benefits
The partnership will bring several advantages, including:
- Consistent shaping and yield optimisation: the Eberhardt Air Max Food Press utilises pneumatic pressure control to maintain precise product dimensions during cooking, smoking, and drying. Paired with standard or customised Eberhardt moulds for products like cooked ham, raw ham, and sausage, the system produces level, repeatable shapes that reduce cutting losses and improve raw material utilisation ahead of slicing and packaging.
- High-power continuous tumbling: designed for continuous processing of pork, turkey, chicken, and fish, the TT Bastard 160 delivers up to nine times the power of conventional tumblers within a compact 2.4 m² footprint. It enables faster processing times and stronger protein binding without requiring a separate cooling step. Optional column-loading and pre-mixing systems are available to optimise production flow.
- Accelerated vacuum marinating and salting: the Food Finisher applies a permanent vacuum process to ensure even salting, marinating, and mixing across pork, beef, poultry, plant-based products, and salads. Operating within a 4.2 m² footprint, it enhances spice absorption, tenderness, and moisture retention while halving salting times and doubling output capacity in suitable applications. Interchangeable 500-litre containers can be filled up to 85% or used for smaller, flexible batch sizes.
- Ergonomic safety and handling efficiency: the Ergolift semi-automatic lifting platform enables operators to roll press carts, cooking racks, and containers directly onto the unit at ground level before automatically elevating them to preset working heights. This minimises repetitive bending and heavy lifting, supported by integrated safety features including two-hand control and a dedicated secure cleaning mode.
Portfolio expansion
The agreement allows Interfood Technology to support food producers through every stage of pressing, shaping, continuous mixing, marinating, and integrated material handling.
Sam Crooks, divisional manager at Interfood Technology, noted that Eberhardt’s machine range targets the core practical issues factory managers discuss regularly — ranging from yield gains and reduced cycle times to enhanced operator safety and product consistency.
