Summit Foods in peak shape

UK foodservice, retail and food manufacturing supplier Summit Foods is celebrating 30 years in business with a major expansion programme.
The Lancashire-based supplier of cooked meat based products was founded in 1981 and is now a family-run business owned and managed by husband and wife team Dean and Vanessa Lewis.
To coincide with its 30th birthday, the business has announced major expansion plans at its premises in Preston, growing the manufacturing facility from 26,000sq ft to 38,500sq ft.
“We are delighted and proud to mark this major milestone in the ongoing success story of Summit Foods,” says Vanessa. “And it’s even more pleasing that we can celebrate our 30th anniversary with the news that we are expanding the business by growing our workforce and expanding our premises.
“In many ways the business has changed beyond recognition with more employees, a bigger premises, new techniques and processes and a much more varied product range. But in other ways we haven’t changed at all. We remain true to the company’s founding principles of combining consistent quality with good value, and are as committed as ever to the highest standards of food safety and quality.”
