A major environmental protection initiative supported by Coca-Cola Hellenic Romania has received a £860,000 (€1 million) grant from the European Union.
The funding has been awarded to the Tasuleasa Social Non-Governmental Organisation, which has been a strategic partner of Coca-Cola Hellenic Romania since 2007, and will be used to develop a management plan for the Calimani National Park, which is situated in the same region as Coca-Cola Hellenic Romania’s mineral water operations.

Key elements of the management plan include protecting biodiversity, strengthening institutional management capabilities, and providing educational programmes for local people.

“Collaborating with partners is a key component of our Towards Sustainability strategy,” says Ulrike Gehmacher, public affairs and communication manager, Coca-Cola Hellenic. “We are thrilled that the European Union has recognised the valuable work that our partner Tasuleasa Social is engaged in. We have worked closely with them on a number of environmental projects and are looking forward to supporting them further as they develop the plan for Calimani National Park.”
