EU drinks packaging market analysed

The European beverage packaging market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 3.64% from 2015-2019, according to a new report from research firm Technavio.
Urbanisation and a rise in disposable income have increased consumption of packaged food and drinks in the European market. Packaging not only helps generate demand in the market, but also helps maintain the shelf life of the product, according to the company.
“Manufacturers are developing innovative packaging solutions to tap the growing organised retail and processed food and beverage markets, where consumers demand lightweight, convenient and easy to use packaged products,” says Faisal Ghaus, vice president of Technavio.
The new report also emphasises vendors in the market who are investing in the development of new products. Manufacturers are focusing on differentiating their products from their competitors by providing the best packaging products to meet customer needs.
“Reducing the weight of packaging materials and modifying pack formats to lighter configurations is allowing vendors to reduce the cost of transportation, thus benefitting their businesses,” adds Ghaus.
