Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) and Coca-Cola Great Britain (CCGB) both received accolades at the recent Food and Drink Federation (FDF) Community Partnership Awards in London.

CCE was presented with the top award in the Environmental Leadership category for its initiative to ‘Reduce the carbon footprint of the drink in your hand by a third by 2020’.

FDF recognised the industry leadership shown by CCE in the key areas of sustainable packaging and carbon reduction, as well as the company’s efforts to inspire and lead change at every stage of the value chain.

The initiative was selected by the judging panel for being a transformational business model that was also bringing wider benefits to recycling across the UK.

“This is a great result for CCE, as these well-established awards are respected across the industry and they see us competing with our peers in the food and drink sector,” says Julian Hunt (pictured), VP Public Affairs & Communications GB at CCE. “This is valuable external recognition for the leadership of our business – and is testimony to the hard work that many people at CCE do every day to drive forward our sustainability agenda.”

In addition, CCGB was awarded silver for its StreetGames partnership, which works to take sport to the doorsteps of teens in some of the country’s most deprived communities.
